Configpair is a browser-based tool that compares two environment files (.env or similar KEY=VALUE format) and shows the differences grouped into three categories: MISSING keys, CHANGED values, and SAME entries. The tool runs entirely client-side. No data you paste is transmitted to any server.
Configpair does not require or support user accounts. There is no registration, no login, no session, and no way to save or retrieve a comparison. Every use is independent of every other use.
Comparison results exist only in your browser's memory during the current session. Closing the tab destroys them. The only persistent state is your light/dark theme preference, stored in localStorage and not associated with any content you have compared.
Configpair is currently free. Every feature is available immediately with no sign-up, no credit card, and no cap on how many files you compare. There are no recurring charges, no trial that converts to a paid subscription, and no in-app purchases.
If a paid tier is introduced in the future — for example, a Team plan with server-side features such as CI integration, shared audit logs, or automated drift detection — a Billing section will be added to these terms describing:
No paid tier exists today. This section describes what will be true when one does, so that anyone evaluating Configpair's future plans knows the terms in advance.
Configpair is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The comparison logic parses KEY=VALUE lines and groups them by exact string equality. It does not validate that values are correct, well-formed, or safe. You are responsible for verifying that the comparison output reflects your actual environment configuration.
The tool may not handle every edge case in env-file formatting. Quoted values are stripped of their surrounding quotes. Values spanning multiple lines are not supported. Keys are compared case-sensitively. If your use case depends on any of these assumptions, verify the output manually.
In no event shall the operator of Configpair be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the tool. You use it at your own discretion.
By using Configpair, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the tool.
These terms may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
No governing law is named because no jurisdiction has been registered for this product. When a legal entity is established, this section will be updated to name the applicable jurisdiction.
